GBU-15 Shelved.

2006-Sep-5

Due to time constraints, and the fact that the GBU has been taking up exactly 50% of my processing time for these three rockets, I have shelved construction of the GBU-15 until after Plaster Blaster. I would much rather have something to fly than nothing to fly at Plaster Blaster, and this was the most logical choice: It is somewhat oblique in it's construction, and many of the steps that I need to take in order to construct it the way I was intending consist of dedicated tasks that I do not need to perform on Pato II, and Phoenix.

There are a couple of things, like the fin set, that will continue to be processed along with the parts from Phoenix, and Pato II, where it makes sense to do so, but I am afraid that in order to stay married, and get two rockets to Plaster Blaster, I am not going to be able to have the GBU ready until maybe RocStock in June next year. Trust me, I am more disappointed at this than anyone.

I have not given up, and I am not discouraged, rather encouraged with the ability to better concentrate on the two rockets, instead of having differing construction paths for all three rockets. So far, my schedule is not too far behind that I won't be able to catch up with not having to spend half of my time on the GBU, but who knows what lies around the corner.
